Zane has been very busy this year with his fabrication business.
He has done several complete bodies, made panels to replace old bent ones, built
new noses, put on partial and full clips, built nerf bars and rub rails and fixed lots of
bent parts and leaky radiators. Many different types of cars have gone in and out of
the shop. He has also been doing complete chassis set-ups.
He is very excited to see his business grow and to see other drivers pick up that little
bit extra that took him years to figure out. Yes, they are competitors, but by helping
others get their cars working well, it makes the racing that much more exciting and
gives the fans something to cheer about.

A 1-2 night wasn't meant to be on Saturday
Saturday we ran the late model and a b-mod at Mountain Speedway. Zane had both cars working well
by feature time. He started 6th in the mod and quickly came up through the field to 2nd. He tried
to make a last lap move on Sesely for the lead, but was unsuccessful and had to settle for 2nd. In
the latemodel he started 7th, came up through and battled for the lead for several laps and finally
got underneath Sweeney for the lead on lap 41. When Sweeney spun he took the rear spoiler off the
car which made the car very loose. Zane did a great job of keeping the car smooth, but the caution
flag flew once again with 4 to go. During the caution the crew told Zane to keep the car down
because we knew the only way he was going to win was to take us out.  With 3 to go Volpe did
just that. He drove into 1 and 2 deep gave Zane a shot to get him loose and then hit him again
when he tried to get underneath, this time catching the bars in the rear which ended our night.

W
e have a lot of work to do now to get ready for Oswego, but know we have a great car and will
hope to be in the front again. We will also be back at Mountain for the NELMA show in Oct.

Special thanks to Darryl and Mike for putting Zane in your cars.
Zane is also putting his own SST together for Oswego. We haven't raced since 2004 when we won,
but will be ready to make it happen again.
We are hoping to have the SST and Legend at King of the Mountain.

This season has been a lot of fun for Zane and crew. Having the chance to get into different types of
racecars, at different race tracks, owned by different people and being able to put on a show is what
racing is all about. Thanks to all of those owners who gave Zane the opportunity. We hope you are
all having fun too.
